Creation Story

While there are two very different Creation Stories, they both are written to encompass two very significant realities. The first is to state that "There is ONE GOD who created the entire universe." The other is to establish the purpose of humans. Both stories state the exact same truth. What do you think these stories say about our role in creation? What does this say about Social Justice?

Lesson 2
The primary purpose for God to make man was to make a person in his image and let him rule over all creatures on the earth. In the story in chapter two, God follows the same purpose by making Eve the mother of all living and Adam was given his owwn land to fend for himself. I think that God incorporated Social Justice into the creation of the world because he let man rule over all the creatures, but he also gave all the creatures the kind of food they needed.

God Created man to take care of the earth and the creatures of the earth. In chapter two God created woman by taking a rib from the man's body. God's purpose for this was so they would become one flesh. In the creation stories God implies Social Justice by making man take care of the earth and the creatures of the earth. Our role in creation has not changed. We must still take care of the earth and all of God's creations.

The main reson God made man was because he needed someone who would take care of the Earth. The second story tells us of the earth before there were plants, and the reason for this is because there was no rain yet and there was no one to till the land. Likewise, in the first story, God tells man and woman that they will have dominion over all plants and animals, and even over the land itself. So God creates man to till the earth and take care of the creatures and plants on it. The stories incorporate social justice by giving us a gift and a responsibility. He gives us the gift of dominion by giving us power over all other creatures, but gives us a responsibility because we must take care of them and help them at the same time.

In both of these stories the man is created in gods image. Then he gave the man the authority to rule the land and keep his creation good. It tells us though that we should not treat other peers unfairly which goes with the social justices.God gave the earth man to care for it and gave us all the things we need. our responsibility is to keep it clean and a nice place to live.

One of God's purposes for creating man-kind was to take care of and care for his wonderful earth that he had created. In the second chapter when God took one of Adam's ribs out to create Eve, the mother of living things, he sent Adam, the male, to go off and survive on his own. I think that God created social justice because he had put man on the earth and created social justice because the lives of the men needed to be more than just caring for the land. This shows that social justice is a good thing to have in society.

God's purpose for creating man was to look over the creatures and the land. God gave Adam his own land to tend to and gave Eve to assist him and to be the mother of all creation. This is significant because God needed help to look over the land, therefore he created Adam in his image and Eve out of Adams rib to recreate life.
